Welcome to PosterScene
PosterScene specializes in new & vintage music posters & memorabilia. We are located in Boulder, Colorado, and stock many concert posters from the Denver and Boulder area, as well as collectible concert posters such as the San Francisco Fillmore & Warfield series. We also have a huge collection of rare vintage concert advertisements.
Downtown Boulder and East Pearl Street in particular is about to get a little more colorful when PosterScene relocates from the Hill and opens its new digs at 1505 PEARL STREET, May 4.
Already recognized nationally as a leading source for rare vintage and modern concert posters—including hundreds from the Fox and Boulder Theatres, Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium and San Francisco’s Warfield and Fillmore series’ (among the thousands of posters on hand)—art and music-related memorabilia from around the world, the new 1,500 foot location will allow for increased inventory visibility.
Hall explained he’s also expanding into music books and records and is actively (and always) purchasing collections to expand this extension of the new store.
“I’ve been a music fan my entire life and love collecting albums and viewing album art. It’s so much more exciting than CDs,” he says. “And with vinyl making a comeback, it seems like a fun and complimentary addition to my store.”
PosterScene began in 2003 as a mail-order only business in Gunbarrel. As local demand increased, Hall opened a retail location on the Hill.
“People were knocking on the warehouse door or calling to see if they could stop by and browse,” he recalls. “I wasn’t really set up for that, but it happened frequently enough that opening a retail store made sense.”
After four years on the Hill across the street from the Fox Theatre, Hall says PosterScene has outgrown the busy space and a move downtown was the only logical choice.
“Our inventory has increased dramatically in the past few years, but we just don’t have room to display everything. From a business standpoint, even with my online sales at PosterScene.com, the most logical move is into a bigger location,” he explains.
“I believe going to 15th and Pearl is a great choice as well,” Hall continued. “The area is really happening with Mountain Sun Brewery, Topo Ranch and other hot spots right down block. The increased foot traffic will be a boon as well.”
Hall is, naturally, excited about the move.
“It’s a little scary making such a big move, but it’s always exciting setting up a new space,” he says. “I really can’t wait.”
